Description

- SLAP IN THE FACE -

What shocks you? What makes you tick and what sets you off?
Ever feel like you've been treated so rudely that it feels like that person slapped you in the face with his or her attitude?
Ever want to show that person how it feels to be treated so badly?
Ever react?
This reaction is twice as harsh as the slap.
Like it should be.

'This was truly a piece of work for me. What I do when I can't shoot pictures. This is my other passion. It's my reaction to that SLAP in the face of not being able to shoot photos. This image SCREAMS "take that". This is my first piece in a LONG time, it's the piece that SCREAMS 'I'm back'! The piece is huge. It's a compilation of about a month of creative ideas, it's the creative process over weeks and long nights. The image is compiled of new pieces and old ones. The image started as a simple design, and blew into a huge piece that made me want to make it fit a 20x30 or even 24x36 frame. I wanted something that would compile all of my best photowork and show off my creative skills along with graphic technique and talent. It might seem like I'm boasting, but this is my description and it's what this piece is about.
It's amazing how the piece started. Just shape here, and another there. Then, ideas started forming and I got to work. I would work until I thought I had finished a "phase". I wanted a clean vector art look with a grunge abstract feel. I wanted tight lines and bold curves. I wanted something that was very unique to me and couldn't be repeated. This piece is very different from anything I have seen and have ever done. I can proudly say, it's "original". '

Software: only - Photoshop 7
Brushes: Industrial Skumm Brushes, Spoono.com line vector brushes, tech brushes (don't know name), custom made brushes (by me). If I've left anything out, I aplogize.
Time spent: So HARD to tell. I've worked on it when I had an idea and the vector pieces were from photos that took even longer. I'd say that all in all I spend a good full two days working on it (48 hours TOTAL, scattered over a month)!

Most of all, this image should fill anyones imagination. Anyone who appreciates detail and has a love for color and looking at things just a little differently. Anyone with a passion for abstract art I hope likes the piece.

Keep in mind, I created this piece to be HUNG on a large wall, not to sit on a desktop. I'll be ordering myself a big print and I hope to see it in a gallery. Please enjoy, now...go look and enjoy the depth...

Enjoy the feeling, enjoy life.
Have a great day, with love, Aaron.
